Embrace Your Inner Fairy Princess

Every night after I put Tensley to bed, I get to enjoy this very special one-on-one time with Tegan. We read books (I let her pick two) then we say prayers and I sing her three songs. There is alot of giggling and snuggles! I Love it!

We have an Awesome library out here and a Book Mobile (a library on wheels) We are constantly switching out books (mommy needs variety) If it were up to Tegan we would probably read the same few over and over (she has her favorites) smile! As I read all these different books I always appreciate the little life lessons I pick up from the book.

I thought you might enjoy this little lesson from this book or if not it's a cute gift for a little girl!

The book is called The Very Fairy Princess by none other than Julie Andrews (yes, Mary Poppins herself) and Emma Walton Hamilton. The Book is illustrated by Christine Davenier. This book is on high rotation in our house and I find it to be very charming.  I find it hard to not read this book in my best Mary Poppins accent.

Lessons are:

  • You can be whatever you want to be, if you just let your sparkle out! (This one is my favorite! Makes me smile every time I read it!)
  • If you feel it inside than you are a fairy princess.
  • Fairy Princesses are always presentable.  You never know who you may bump into
  • Fairy Princesses are very practical
  • Fairy Princesses are very supportive.
  • Sometimes you have to speak up
  • Fairy Princesses know when to take charge.
  • Fairy Princesses like to keep extra gifts on hand for special occasions.
  • Fairy Princesses know that practice makes perfect.
  • Fairy Princesses are very creative
  • Even a fairy princess needs a break to keep her sparkle from sagging (This one make me laugh! Its my other favorite- No one wants their Sparkle to Sag!)
  • Fairy Princesses need lots of beauty sleep to recharge their sparkle.

So get out there and
LET YOUR INNER SPARKLE OUT!!!

Find out what makes you sparkle
and let it shine!!!

We had such a wonderful busy Christmas! I forgot my camera, so I don't have any pictures from all of our amazing family visits...I was so sad about that! But I did snag a couple of pictures from my Aunt Judy's blog from Christmas day at my families!

I made some wine glasses for a "My Favorite Things" Holiday party! It was so fun! You bring 3 of your favorite things (we did no more than $6 for each thing) You end up going home with 3 different things! So Fun! I knew my girlfriend was bringing my favorite wine so I thought I would bring some fun wine glasses! They just make me Happy to drink out of!

Gotta Love Pink & Polka Dots!

And of course Sparkles!

For New Year's we were invited to our friends Brad & Kendyl's Parent's Ranch up in Mayer. We had so much fun! Tegan had a blast playing with all her friends!

Smile Please...No Way, Not Me

I had a Holiday Photo Shoot with Tegan and Tensley...
This was the best picture of them.

Note to self....No photo shoots during nap time! I will have to try again a different day! :)

After I layed Tensley down for her nap, Tegan wanted me to take a couple more pictures of her before her nap. She loved playing photo shoot and had so much fun!

I Like That Too

My lil Brother Caylon was taught when they go into stores to say "I like that" if he sees something that he wants.....instead of "I want that". I started doing this with Tegan and it has worked wonders!!! We can actually go into stores now and when she says "I like that" I can say "I like that too, sweetie" It's great! Instead of "I want that" and I have to say "no, were not getting that today" and you know where that leads to...Tears (not always, but a lot!) We have been doing this now for awhile and she has been Awesome when we go shopping! (Thank you Jodi, for the Wonderful tip!)

We stopped at the Dollar Store today and I told Tegan she could pick out something. She picked the Plastic Balloons! I can remember playing with these when I was little! So fun! Would make a great Socking Stuffer too! Only a Dollar...can't beat that!!

My Love

On December 2nd Patrick and I celebrated our 5 year Anniversary!!!

For 5 years the anniversary gift is wood...so I made him this picture. I'm not sure where we are going to hang it yet. I want to get a black frame to float around it still, but it was so easy and inexpensive to make! I picked a picture of us when we were just being silly taking pictures of ourselves, so every time I would look at it I would smile!

Here is how I made it:

Supplies:

  •  Wood board (I got it from Lowes - cost $5.49)
  • Picture (I had it blown up 11x14 at WalMart - cost $7.57 -the total is "our" number, I thought that was so cool!)
  • Paint
  • Modge Podge

Directions:

  • Paint Board
  • Modge Podge Picture on
  • Paint your message
  • Modge Podge all over
That's it! Super easy gift!

Happy Anniversary!

You are such an Amazing Man, Husband & Father!
I Love You Always & Forever!

Let your Sparkle out today!!!
